About Lynn Anderson

Country vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Lynn Anderson is best remembered for her gigantic 1971 crossover hit "Rose Garden." Her parents, Casey and Liz Anderson, were both accomplished country songwriters. After recording a few singles in the mid-'60s, Lynn became a regular on The Lawrence Welk Show and debuted at the Grand Ole Opry. For Columbia, she released three singles before "Rose Garden" became an international hit in 1971, topping the country chart for the first time. Anderson continued her affiliation with Columbia until 1981 and had numerous Top Ten hits; some of her tunes, such as "Even Cowboys Get the Blues" (1980), became country music standards. ~ Sandra Brennan
