Listening to Swedish power metal troopers Sabaton is like watching the History Channel with the volume turned up to 11. Named for a medieval armored boot, the band channel the martial side of metal. The lion's share of Sabaton's lyrics relate the true-life tales of historic battles from world wars or other notorious conflicts. Naturally they forge music to match, overflowing with heroic guitar riffs, soaring keyboard lines, and vocals that could quite conceivably be mistaken for a charismatic colonel's marching orders to his soldiers.
