About Surface of the Sun

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In junior high a group of us drove to our weekly school golf day. An older boy, who was my older sister's friend, and a huge musical influence on both of us, drove that day. He blasted Korn through his stereo that day and it changed everything. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chevelle, Wonder What's Next Korn, Follow The Leader TOOL, Fear Inoculum Korn's Follow the Leader was one of the most pinnacle albums of my life. Korn changed everything for me, and this album is still their best. While Fear Inoculum isn't early Tool, it's my favourite. Wonder What's next introduced me to Chevelle; dayum. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Vanguard” What makes this song special to me is how unique it is. It's in a six count, has a very non-standard arrangement, has multiple bridge-like sections, uses ethnic instruments, has an epic drum solo and grooves that are impossible not to rock out to. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2019 Oblivion peaked at 26 on the Canadian Radio Rock TOP 40 charts, which caught me completely by surprise! It was definitely one of the most memorable and amazing moments in my music career thus far. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Surface of the Sun is, and always has been, a solo music project. With my complex and busy arrangements it's made it hard to bring it to the stage since I'm the only person in the band. However, this idea has grown, and things might change...
