In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Baby I grew up in the 90s. Music was PEAK! Every week my friends and I would watch Spice World, and when nobody was home I'd try to sing along to Usher's "You Got It Bad." Adorable lol What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Frank Ocean, channel ORANGE Jazmine Sullivan, Reality Show Motion City Soundtrack, I Am the Movie Each of these was pivotal in me falling deeply in love with music. The MCS album was the first CD I memorized front to back. When Frank dropped Orange I was shook to find a unique, iconic queer artist. + Jazmine is my forever bae, goddess among us! Kirsten Izer)” It's wild looking back at my early stuff, because although it's not as polished, I find it actually much more creative and exploratory! I'm always trying to recapture and build off of the excitement and experimentation I started from. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? SO MANY!! Performing for hundreds at TwitchCon, getting Billboard for the first time, having my lyrics sung back to me. God it's all priceless. The one I'll never forget though is singing for my fave Jazmine Sullivan and her saying "OH YOU CAN SANG!" Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My list will NEVER be completed and it's better that way! There's infinite collaborations to dream up, shows and festivals to put on, labels to create, artists to mentor. I'm soaking the journey in every single day & open to everything coming my way.
