In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I will never forget the first time I really truly felt transported and enchanted by a song - and the desire to listen to it over and over. I was 6 years old. The year was 1982 - and the song was Africa by Toto! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Bird of Beauty” In choosing for Spark Bird, my saxophonist Kelly Jefferson suggested this song. I love Stevie Wonder but wasn't familiar with this tune. I just love the lyrics and the opportunity for playfulness with the arrangement. It's a favourite to play live! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments of my career was the first time we played in Japan. To travel to the other side of the world with my band, make music, meet wonderful people and experience a new culture is truly one of the best experiences.
