In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was a kid, I used to write a poem every night before I went to bed. I started humming tunes to them to track my syllables. When I took one to the piano for the first time, a thrill washed over me and I thought--"I'm a songwriter." What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Herbie Hancock, Possibilities Jack Johnson, In Between Dreams Norah Jones, Come Away With Me These albums raised me, inspired me and taught me to dream. I used to run into the surf of the Gulf of Mexico as a kid humming these albums in my heart. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Tonight” I grew up in the conservative south and I wrote this song about falling fast for a girl. I imagined a brand new life--I imagined running away. This song reminds me dancing to One Republic in high school, or going for drives late at night. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to do a proper North American, and then European tour! I'm working in the studio in 2023 on projects that set my soul ablaze, but in 2024 I want to sing together and see one another's faces in person.
