Diana (Deluxe Edition)

Diana (Deluxe Edition)

The Chic braintrust of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards were en fuego with their own hits and those they'd written and produced for Sister Sledge when they got the call to aid one of Motown's biggest superstars. Their response was Diana, by far the best and sauciest of Miss Ross' solo albums. Challenging her with stripped-down rhythm tracks and witty, astute lyrics of a type not always found on her post-Supremes discs, it quite simply rocked. Rodgers' guitar was even more sizzling than on his band's own records, and Ross met the challenge with clipped vocals that showed how much she got it.
