Treasure of Love (feat. Butch Hancock, Joe Ely & Jimmie Dale Gilmore)

After 12 years away, The Flatlanders, one of the most iconic trios in Texas country music, are back with their first studio album since 2009’s Hills and Valleys. Comprising Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock, the Lubbock-bred band has been a cult favorite since debuting with All American Music in the '70s, with Treasure of Love reminding listeners just why the band is so beloved in the first place. The album is a mix of classic country and roots songs from the trio’s deep well of live set lists, like a cover of Bob Dylan’s “She Belongs to Me,” and a handful of new tunes, including the Hancock-penned “Moanin’ of the Midnight Train.” The trio recorded Treasure of Love during the COVID-19 pandemic alongside producer and songwriter Lloyd Maines.
