Ever since their eponymous 2007 debut, We the Kings have been one of the more exciting bands on the emo-pop circuit, touring constantly and releasing a new record every two years. Stripped is what you might call album 4.5; it features acoustic versions of songs from 2013's Somewhere, Somehow and two new tracks: "Stone Walls" and "Is This the End?" The acoustic arrangements, mainly just piano and guitar, emphasize the band's already-strong sense of melody, with Travis Clark's clarion vocals anchoring the bittersweet songs of love and faith. "I Feel Alive" recalls Mumford & Sons, while "Sad Song" nods to Coldplay.
