After 15 years of self-produced and independently released albums, Granger Smith doubled down on 2013’s Dirt Road Driveway—effectively a springboard to the mass appeal of Remington. Led by the humbly anthemic “Backroad Song,” Remington splits the difference between country roots and bittersweet heartland rock, a light but well-weathered sound suited to Granger’s high, pure tenor. Or, as Granger himself puts it on the title track: “I’m one of a kind, I’m tough as you can find/And girl, I’ll fit right in the palm of your hand.”
