Platónicos

Platónicos

Earning a cosign from a figure as significant to reggaetón history as DJ Nelson is a win in and of itself. Given his pioneering track record, his continued patronage of Puerto Rican act Jay Wheeler demands attention. Following last year’s impressive joint effort, Platónicos finds the intergenerational pair linking with some of the hottest contemporary artists in the game, including Myke Towers, though not always as expected. R&B sensation Alex Rose adds his signature touches to the balladic “Para Ti,” while trapero Miky Woodz comes through for “Mala Mía.” Soundtracked by plaintive keys, “Vivir” finds Wheeler alone and grappling with the bad tendencies he’s prone to.
