As hard as this Detroit rapper goes in, it’s hard not to laugh at some of his intentionally hilarious bars. If you listen closely to No Socks, you might catch Cash Kidd himself breaking while delivering some particularly funny lines. His outspoken, explicit humor shines throughout the project on bassbin-rattling cuts like “Kiddnapper” (“Forgot I was getting head/This Netflix movie good as hell”) and “My Favorite.” That said, don’t dare take him for a joke, his reputation earning him features from highly respected locals like 42 Dugg and Sada Baby. He pulls no punchlines on the Motor City posse cut “See You,” leaving his peers on the track like Icewear Vezzo and Rio Da Yung OG with a high bar to reach.
