Yet for this full-length effort, Marca MP’s studio prowess becomes immediately apparent over the course of its 13 regional Mexican cuts. Opening corrido “Manuel Me Llamo Yo” tells a first-person tale of hard work and great rewards. That sets the tone for the songs that follow, including “El Pantera” and “El Magnate,” not to mention the riveting account of the album’s title track.
