Yet what the brothers of Los Dos Carnales do here reminds exactly why they’re one of the most popular groups in música mexicana today. As the title of this rousing four-song EP makes clear, frontmen Poncho Jr. and Imanol Quezada add saxophone to their musical mix, allowing the instrument space to move without ever crowding out their vocal harmonies or requinto melodies. From the rancho romanticism of “El Estrés” to the narcocorrido epic of “Leyenda de Caro Quintero,” they maintain an energy that deserves repeat listening.
