For their album Dance With Me, which takes its name from the English lyrics to “Quien sera,” the ever-versatile Ludwig Orchestra dip their toes into the world of the dance hall. This exhilarating concert of waltzes, foxtrots, sambas, tangos, and more includes a starry lineup of guest soloists to add extra fizz. French trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary luxuriates in Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana,” while soprano Barbara Hannigan, a frequent Ludwig Orchestra collaborator, brings sultry magic to Glenn Miller’s “Moonlight Serenade” and a burst of pure energy to “Fluffy Ruffles” (Niels Meliefste’s xylophone solo here is a stunning display of virtuosity). The party wends its way home to the accompaniment of Elgar’s beautiful “Salut d’amour.”
