Chet Is Back

Chet Is Back

Teaming up with some young-gun European jazzmen in 1962, Chet Baker played some of the most energetic music of his career. He leads the band in a mad dash through Thelonious Monk's "Well You Needn't," struts with confidence through Charlie Parker's sunny-sounding "Barbados," and sounds positively wistful on "Over the Rainbow." Added to this edition are four sides Baker cut with soundtrack maestro Ennio Morricone. It's about the only place you'll hear Baker sing in Italian, as Morricone's trademark strings swell behind his haunting falsetto.
