Los Tucanes de Tijuana may have passed their 30th anniversary, but they still tear into Prueba Superada with an enviably youthful exuberance. With the first snare crack of freewheeling opener "Parrandeando," the legendary quintet launches into their latest wild ride, wrapping those joyful accordion riffs around that singularly driving beat. Even with a few ballad-tempo breathers like "Cuando Te Bese" sprinkled throughout, the album offers rhythm-heavy norteño at its most exhilarating, whether it's the galloping corrido "A Mover el Bote" or the singalong cumbia "Los Xolos."
