South Africa-based trio Mi Casa start their three-track Apple Music Home Session with a strikingly jazzy version of “Mamela”—two years after the single’s release on their fifth album, We Made It. “For us to be able to record songs we have made and love, with the Spatial Audio experience for our audience, and strip them down by performing live is a unique opportunity,” the group’s producer, Dr. Duda, tells Apple Music. “Not only for us, but for our fans too.” And their debut live recording is partnered with a smooth cover of early single “Heavenly Sent” and an acoustic medley of Stimela’s “Zwakala,” dedicated to the memory of the band’s leader, Ray Phiri. “We had an incredible experience when we were able to perform with the legend, and we’ll forever cherish that day,” vocalist J’Something says. “Getting to recreate a classic in our own way was a real highlight. We hope everyone digs it.”
