“I rep for girls that are just raw, for girls in school that are misunderstood and just want a voice,” Shaybo tells Apple Music. On “Anger” she serves up an unrelenting drill anthem in the hopes of blazing a trail for more women to enter the arena. “I feel like there’s not enough music for women to express themselves,” she says. “We can listen to the boys doing drill, but there’s only so much boys can say that a girl can relate to.” Skipping through flows and matter-of-fact boasts, “Anger” gives Shaybo’s unapologetic nature free rein as she duly explodes over 808s and rattling synths. “There are women that can’t control their anger,” she admits. “I wanted to give them a song they could relate to.”
