Brothers and Sisters (Deluxe Edition)

Their first full LP after the death of leader Duane Allman and their last with bassist Berry Oakley, Brothers and Sisters is a central album in The Allman Brothers Band’s mythology. This collection saw singer/guitarist Dickey Betts penning more of their tracks, like the blue-collar anthem “Ramblin’ Man” and the magnificent instrumental “Jessica,” both of which featured epically inspired guitar lines from Betts and Les Dudek. “Wasted Words” and “Southbound,” with Gregg Allman’s trademark dusty blues vocals, rounded the album out.
