In 2017, a then-14-year-old Elan Catrin Parry told British TV show This Time Next Year of her dream to release an album. Her beautiful debut, Angel, a mix of stunning songs in Welsh and English, is that dream’s fulfillment. The young Welsh singer has a pure, bell-like voice, expressive in both languages and packed with character. Parry is equally suited to the haunting simplicity of the Welsh folk song “Calon Lân” as she is to Michel Legrand’s sophisticated ballad “Windmills of Your Mind.”
