Marlo, who comes from the same Quality Control Music camp as Migos, Lil Baby, and City Girls, has also managed to secure production from some of the biggest hitmakers of the era, including Tay Keith, Quay Global, and Turbo The Great, among others. 1st & 3rd, then, is another bid from the MC to launch his name into the same stratosphere as the talents he regularly shares studio sessions with. Like their work, the vehicle is unfiltered street rap, but even as he charts a path to greater successes, Marlo is ever aware of what he’s already accomplished. “Bitch, I’m a superstar, who knew I’d come this far?” he raps on “Street Talk.” “I really come straight out of the dirt, the mud, the concrete jungle.”
