The late bassist Charlie Haden and the late guitarist Jim Hall were undisputed masters, and this live album is a keeper. Hall delights on Haden’s “First Song,” where the bassist plays a moving solo. The pair swing hard on the Coleman-penned blues “Turnaround,” while the classic “Body and Soul” provides a foundation for extensive exploration. One standout, Hall’s “Down from Antigua,” has a great stretch where folk/flamenco strumming backs Haden’s wonderfully melodic lines.
