Emre Aydin honed his chops as the lead singer of alt-rockers 6.Cadde, a band he co-founded in the late ‘90s. But it was the singer-songwriter’s 2006 solo debut Afili Yalnızlık and its deeply personal sketches of loneliness that turned him into Turkish rock’s brightest ‘00s star. By crafting universal sentiments with poignant pop melodies and angst-ridden guitar bursts, Aydin has found an audience that has faithfully followed his explorations in aching rock balladry and Turkish pop. He’s also struck fresh alternative ground with 6.Cadde, who reunited in 2019.
