A Family Affair

A Family Affair

Cellist Edgar Moreau is joined by his siblings—violinists Raphaëlle and David and pianist Jérémie—for works by Dvořák and Korngold. Dvořák’s 5 Bagatelles are characteristically overflowing with melody, and somehow the experience is made even more delightful by the knowledge that it’s played by brothers and sisters. A couple of gorgeous arrangements of two hugely popular arias take us to Korngold’s dramatic and eventful Suite, Op. 23, a powerful creation bursting with invention. A charming album on which the Moreau family’s synergy shows in every bar.
