On this, her debut album, Orton successfully layered these two divergent influences-electronic adventure and folk revivalism-- to create a breakthrough sound, a sort of trip-folk for a new millennium. The album's often light and airy arrangements belie a dark underbelly, with moments of delicious spite and anger.
