Their usual spiky guitar riffs turn woozy and sludgy as if melted by the sun, while beats rumble and keyboards squirm on fuzzy rocker "Potion Approaching", in which Alex Turner transforms from cool crooner to a desert-traipsing Jim Morrison. James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco preserves the band's crisp, dancy inclinations on psychedelic nuggets "Secret Door" and "Cornerstone".
