Tayc Essentials

Marseille-born Julien Bouadjie moved to Paris at 16 to pursue a future in the arts, finding his way in music with a new name—Tayc—and a sultry, soulful croon. His voice wraps comfortably around slow-burning R&B (“Moi, je prouve”), dancehall (“C’est lui”) and Afropop-inspired rhythms (“N’y pense plus”), showing a versatility that enables him to cross styles with ease. True to his Cameroonian roots, in 2019 he released “Ewondo ou Bami”, a collaboration with late saxophonist Manu Dibango, which pays homage to the culture and rhythms that shaped his musical identity.
