About Matthew Rose
Matthew Rose is an English bass-baritone who specializes in operatic roles. He was educated at Seaford College in West Sussex, and pursued vocal studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States. Following his participation in the young artists' program at Covent Gardens, Rose has performed widely in the U.K. and internationally. He is a frequent soloist in performances of oratorios and other choral works, and he has given art song recitals at prominent venues, including Wigmore Hall. Rose received the John Christie Prize in 2006, the Wigmore Hall/Independent Opera Voice Fellowship in 2007, and the Critics Circle Award in 2012. He has recorded for Stone Records, Signum UK, and Hyperion.
