About The Snuts

Scottish band The Snuts unabashedly carry a torch for early-2000s UK rock music. Formed in 2015 by schoolmates Jack Cochrane, Joe McGillveray, Callum Wilson, and Jordan Mackay, the quartet drew inspiration from British acts like The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys before creating their own riveting guitar-based numbers with shout-along choruses. The band’s debut single, “Glasgow,” matched swift melodies with anthemic hooks, while allowing space for singer Jack Cochrane to showcase his witty yet earnest vocals. Subsequent songs found the group expanding their range, toughening up their image with street-smart lyrics (“Maybe California” and “Coffee & Cigarettes”) or exploring emotional vulnerability through midtempo strummers (“Somebody Loves You”). The Snuts shared their first full-length album, W.L., in 2021, bringing back the energy of garage rock and reminding audiences that the subgenre still packs a punch.
