Falling into your eyes Record

Singer-songwriter Aimyon was the perfect artist to describe the way in which romance intersects with daily existence on 2022’s detail-rich Falling into your eyes Record. Aimyon’s fourth album finds her building on the acoustic folk-pop she explored since adolescence. On Falling into your eyes Record, she shows how a slow build to a huge chorus featuring multi-tracked vocals ups the emotional punch (“Futaba”) and how subtracting these elements can underline the immense sweetness at her work’s center (“Heart”). As she did on previous albums, Aimyon experiments with new sonic backdrops, dipping into electronic-tinged R&B on the dreamy “Getting Stronger, but so blue,” or using digitally manipulated backing vocals to add a layer of surrealism to “Figure.” She also lets loose, delivering rap-style singing on “The Memory Of Persona” and clap-heavy guitar on “Your Heart.” While sonically curious, Aimyon spends the majority of Falling into your eyes Record leaning into what’s become her signature sound: mid-tempo rhythms propelled by acoustic guitar strums building up to a big chorus elevated by strings and piano. Against this comfortable backdrop, she digs into the everyday moments where love rears its head—eating breakfast, waiting for packages, etc. But with the artist’s powerful storytelling abilities, even everyday scenarios become uniquely gripping.
