#TWICE4 (Japanese ver.) - EP

TWICE, the biggest girl group on the planet—K-pop or otherwise—possesses a deep understanding of international appeal. To continue their reign, they frequently translate their bubblegum pop into a variety of different languages. This time, they’ve released a new Japanese EP, #TWICE4, a collection of some of their biggest hits of the last few years: the spacey ’80s retro synth banger “I CAN’T STOP ME”; the sultry techno-pop “CRY FOR ME” (with some English in the chorus for good measure; the sugary-sweet summertime love song “Alcohol-Free,” with production that recalls the Sex and the City theme song; and lastly, “SCIENTIST” and its Euro-club synth rhythms and sprechgesang rap chants. These are songs you already love, in a new language, and it’s like hearing them for the first time all over again.
