In 2019, Prabh Deep discovered his inner muse while working on his breakout EP, K I N G. Five-plus years later, the rapper, singer and songwriter channels this introspective energy once again on his self-produced follow-up, KING Returns. It’s almost a comeback statement—although the star never really left. There’s funk and soul influences here, with standout tunes including the understated “Yadaan” and “Babaji”, in which he recalls his late father. Samples and lo-fi loops crackle throughout the bouncy “Daang”, while “Bachpan” links Deep’s childhood with his future—a theme that permeates these tracks.
