Goldberg

About Goldberg

A mainstay in the Minneapolis rock scene of the late '60s and early '70s, Barry Thomas Goldberg made his solo debut in 1974 under the name Goldberg. Abandoning the power pop of his previous group, the Batch, Goldberg collaborated with experimental guitarist Michael Yonkers on a Spartan set of psych-folk songs that they recorded in mono to an Ampex tape machine in just two days. A lonesome and thoughtfully meandering album, Misty Flats was self-released and received a limited pressing of only 500 copies. Failing to make a commercial impact, Goldberg's debut faded into obscurity until Seattle-based reissue label Light in the Attic reissued it in 2015. ~ Timothy Monger
