Nowhere did Israel's alt-rock boom of the '90s manifest more completely than in Monica Sex—and the band's 1995 debut Ptzaim Veneshikot was a true Buzz Bin album. The record's breakout single, "Maka Afora", is a heartfelt pop delight with an infectious melody and swooning strings, but much of the record is louder rock 'n' roll, heavy on the low end and distorted guitar. Yali Sobol's wry vocals drive singalong choruses—many of which proved alt-rock radio gold and made the album an immediate hit.
