About Lil Darkie

Once described as “the most controversial rapper alive,” Lil Darkie provokes audiences with his inflammatory lyrics and seemingly racist moniker and self-drawn cartoon avatar. • Lil Darkie is Joshua Hamilton, a mixed-race Indian American from Northern California. He originally began rapping as Brahman as a teenager. • Denying any racist intent, he’s claimed that his avatar’s black skin color was inspired by Indian gods. • The rapper broke through in 2019 with “Holocaust,” a song that drew criticism for its racial slurs and insensitive language. • He dropped his debut album, Kill Yourself, in 2018. • A string of projects has followed, including four in 2020: Swamp, Yin, This Does Not Exist, and Lil Darkie Classics. • Unapolegetic in the face of criticism, Lil Darkie describes his music as an outlet for his aggression.
