About Zru Vogue

In the artist’s words: What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brian Eno, Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy Talking Heads, More Songs About Buildings and Food (Deluxe Version) The Cure, Faith (Deluxe Edition) Brian Eno was a huge influence as he showed how it was possible to stretch the boundaries of pop music into whole new territories. Talking Heads combined great rhythms and lyrics with offbeat themes, and The Cure captured our same 80's zeitgeist. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Nakweda Dream” The day before the recording session for our first single, a strange new song emerged as we were improvising. That new song was "Nakweda Dream," recorded in June 1980 and released in February 1981. I finished the lyrics just before singing them. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 1981 we played a gig at the Savoy Tivoli in San Francisco's North Beach with The Sleepers and DNA. Arto Lindsay saw us, loved the show, and told us we should go to New York, because New York would love Zru Vogue. It was a great early endorsement. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We've always wanted to record an album with Brian Eno. Eno's music and his work as a producer have been a great inspiration to us.
