About This Heat

The experimental U.K. band This Heat remains one of the most influential and acclaimed artists of the late '70s, despite only releasing two albums -- a 12-inch single and two cassette-only releases -- during their lifetime. Based around guitarist Charles Bullen and drummer Charles Hayward, their schizophrenic output veered from moments of quiet beauty to an all-out wall-of-noise assault. After collaborating with Ghanaian percussionist Mario Boyer Diekuuroh, they reconvened to record Deceit. Hayward appeared on the Raincoats' influential album Odyshape and later collaborated with Fred Frith.
