About Foetus

Experimental musician Jim Thirlwell has been using the moniker Foetus (and various elaborate derivations thereof) since the early 1980s. Thirlwell's work as Foetus is best described as industrial, yet contains traces of any number of diverse styles that would fall far from industrial's cacophonous aural tree. Using heavy doses of electronic noise and bursts of sampled sound, Foetus remains one of the more challenging projects in music. The prolific Thirlwell has recorded under several other names, including Flesh Volcano, Manorexia, and Baby Zizanie, among others. He's also composed film scores under his own name and the alias Clint Ruin.
