About Eyeless In Gaza
Experimental post-punk duo Eyeless in Gaza consisted of multi-instrumentalists and singers Peter Becker and Martyn Bates. Formed in Warwickshire, England in 1980, the group began their career playing sometimes ambient, sometimes confrontational art pop, a formula they expanded on and refined over their numerous recordings by adding elements of electronica, folk, funk, film music, and jangle pop. Whether on the jagged textures of CAUGHT IN FLUX, the delicate pop of RUST RED SEPTEMBER, or the carefully crafted minimalism of TRANSIENCE BLUES, the music of Eyeless in Gaza is always marked by a keen, artistic sensibility. The group disbanded in ’87, but reunited in the early ‘90s.
