About Borusiade

Romanian electronic musician and DJ Borusiade produces darkly melodic techno and electro informed by EBM and post-punk. On releases such as 2020's Fortunate Isolation, her sparse, hypnotic rhythms and haunting textures are joined by lyrics about mortality, spirituality, and transformation. Miruna Boruzescu was born in Bucharest and was trained as a classical musician. Entranced by the experimentation of electronic music, she started to DJ in 2002, then joined the new wave band Hector in 2005, and began to produce as a solo artist and as part of the duo Stereonucleose in 2008. She moved to Berlin and continued to DJ and make music as Borusiade. Her first EP, Jeopardy, was released by Matias Aguayo's Cómeme label in early 2016, and Feelings of Entropy appeared on Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant shortly after that. Promises & Infatuation, a split EP with the Sixteen Steps, was issued by Cititrax in 2017, and the single "Silent" preceded Borusiade's debut full-length, A Body, which was released by Cómeme in 2018. Two more EPs (2018's Their Specters and 2019's Misfits of Broken Dreams) appeared before Borusiade's second album, Fortunate Isolation, arrived on Dark Entries in 2020. ~ Paul Simpson
