Here For Now

Here For Now

Chicago natives Robby Hauldren and Frederic Kennett have been touring as Louis The Child for nearly a decade after meeting at a Madeon show and bonding over a shared love for uplifting, cinematic EDM (see: Porter Robinson, ODESZA). They went on to release a handful of upbeat EPs and opened for The Chainsmokers, but Here for Now, their first official full-length, carries a certain narrative weight. Inspired by the “beauty and impermanence of our time on earth,” as they wrote on Twitter, the album features some of their genre-bending peers like Bob Moses (“What a World”), K.Flay (“We All Have Dreams”), and Foster the People (“Every Color”), and feels special-made for sunny music festival sing-alongs. On anthems like “Bittersweet” and “Don’t Mind,” which highlight their technical production skills as well as their vocal talent, they capture a certain youthful optimism that increasingly feels all too rare.
