NOISY’S Cody Matthews, Connor Cheetham, and Spencer Tobias-Williams have grown up making music together in Brighton. “So What?” is their punchy debut, and quite the introduction. “It's about showing off who we are,” Matthews tells Apple Music. “It's the second song we wrote, and there was definitely an atmosphere in the studio like, 'This is it, this is what NOISY needs to sound like.' It set the tone for what was to come and who we are going to be.” With two guitarists—Cheetham and Tobias-Williams—the spirited riffs demand attention, and so does the carefree yet rebellious chorus. Rapper and singer Matthews’ lyrics layered over handclaps make it a must-hear live track. “We started rehearsing ages ago so when the time did come to play shows, we'd have it nailed,” Matthews says. “Finally playing it for people is so cool. It's nice to see people like us walk on stage and feel the audience be like, ‘Who are these guys?’ then gradually start to smile more and more.” Where are they hoping the success of this single will take them? “The dream is to play a mad 45-minute set at Reading and the whole tent is a mosh pit. That's our vibe.”
