The bouncy, melodic indie pop of Fred Fredburguer emphasizes the pop in their distorted pop-punk slant. The Spanish group made their full-length debut with New Adventures in Pop in 2020. Formed in Madrid, Fred Fredburguer was started by guitarist Alba and drummer Fernando. By mid-2016, they had added bass player Olaya Pedrayes of Axolotes Mexicanos and second guitarist Miguel, a friend. They rejiggered the lineup in 2018 with Fernando's brother, Raúl, taking over on bass and Raúl's partner, Elena, playing drums, while Fernando slid over to second guitar. After signing with Elefant Records, Fred Fredburguer released their first song, "Colegas," in November 2019, following it a month later with the Christmas-themed "No Hay Muchos Regalos (Pero A Mí Me Da Igual)." The summery, eight-song New Adventures in Pop arrived in mid-2020. ~ Marcy Donelson
