Las 3 Torres

Las 3 Torres

The year 2020 was a pivotal one in regional Mexican music, thanks in no small part to the popular efforts of some of its youngest bright new stars. Following his initial 2019 breakout moment, proven hitmaker Natanael Cano took his rightful place at the forefront of the corridos tumbados movement, bringing the teenage talent Junior H and trap-minded Cuban representative Ovi along while putting his coveted cosign on some of their own rather well-received solo projects as well. As such, it makes sense that Rancho Humilde, the pathbreaking label that houses all three popular acts, would unite them once more ahead of 2021 for this robust joint effort. Opener “Verdes Verdes” and the title track find them in trio form, showcasing their respective strengths and differences as vocalists. Elsewhere, as on Junior H and Ovi’s duet “Viejo Vaya” and Cano’s slick trap fusion “El Trono,” they split off, often collaborating in various permutations while liberally crossing genre lines. One of the boldest examples comes at the end of Las 3 Torres, when Snoop Dogg, Snow Tha Product, and CNG grace the bilingual flex “Feeling Good.”
