About Glass Tiger

The Canadian band Glass Tiger earned ’80s pop-rock immortality with their 1986 debut album, The Thin Red Line, and its first single, “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone).” Cowritten and produced by Jim Vallance, the swinging-for-the-fences anthem features Bryan Adams on backing vocals and was a massive hit in the U.S. and Canada. Glass Tiger had coalesced just a few years before, in 1983, after vocalist Alan Frew linked up with other musicians in Newmarket, Ontario. The band followed up “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone)” with another smash single, the midtempo ballad “Someday,” and picked up a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Success continued for Glass Tiger in Canada with 1988’s Diamond Sun, which featured the uptempo rock hit “I’m Still Searching.” The group took a break from 1993 to 2003 and then resumed touring. In 2018, the band released 31, their first album since 1991’s Simple Mission, and followed that up a year later with another full-length, 33. In 2019, Glass Tiger toured with fellow Canadian ’80s star Corey Hart, a trek followed by the release of the seasonal Songs For a Winter’s Night.
