The mists of Ireland get transported to the sunny shores of Santa Monica with this slick, shiny set of pop-inflected Irish anthems. With Patrick Murphy and Steve Twigger sharing lead vocal duties (and Peter Purvis wailing on uilleann pipes), the band delivers a solid set of ribald tales, mostly revolving around swaggering and suds. The first three numbers set the pace: the wistful "Another Stupid Drinking Song,” a rollicking tribute to Ireland’s West Coast called “Girls’ Night In Galway” (striking terror into “the stoutest of men”), and a self-explanatory "Whiskeyed Up and Womaned Out.”
