The night of 9 March 2024 was a special one in Leicester. Gok Wan has long been one of the city’s favourite sons thanks to his achievements as a fashion guru, TV presenter and chef—but this was a chance to salute his burgeoning career as a DJ. “This mix is the set I played at The Emporium for Clockwork Orange and We Are Groovebox,” he tells Apple Music. “It was the first time I’d returned home to Leicester to DJ.” Spinning fresh dance-floor fire from the likes of Armand Van Helden & Mark Knight, Eats Everything & ShezAr and OFFAIAH & David Penn—alongside remixes of established classics by Orbital, Inner City and Groove Armada—he made sure his set was suitably uplifting. “The night was incredible and brought back many incredible memories of clubbing and partying as a youth in my hometown,” he says. “I hope you love this mix as much as I loved playing it out.”
