Bare Bones (Live)

Bryan Adams has the kind of voice that hardly needs a full-on band to bring out the full emotions of a song. On his Spring 2010 Bare Bones tour, with just himself and keyboardist Gary Breit, Adams tackled his impressive career catalog and remembered what it was like to go “Unplugged” once again. Songs such as “Summer of ’69,” “Heaven,” “Cuts Like a Knife” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” sound completely fresh coming from Adams’ weathered throat. Other highlights include “It’s Only Love,” where Adams proves he could’ve gone the R&B route with similar success. His talents as a vocalist have never been more easily accessed. Even cheeky songs like “The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You” keep a humane rocker’s heart to them, while it’s the most sensitive material (“You’re Still Beautiful to Me”) that comes out strongest.
