TMN

About TMN

Japanese pop band TMN (short for Time Machine Network) was formed as TM Network in 1983 by producer/keyboardist Tetsuya Komuro, vocalist Takashi Utsunomiya and guitarist Naoto Kine. After the trio won a talent contest that year, TM Network released its first single "Take It to the Lucky" -- closely followed by the album Rainbow Rainbow in April 1984. The group released three more albums before breaking out with the hit single "Get Wild," from Gifts for Frank. Known as TMN after 1990's Rhythm Red, the band released just two more LPs before breaking up in 1994. Both Utsunomiya and Kine began solo careers soon after. The posthumous greatest-hits compilation Time Capsule -- All the Singles entered the Japanese charts in late 1996 at number one. ~ John Bush
